Thirty-One Years Later

The second time I saw T'Pau, I was actually disappointed. This tour was in support of their third album, and what had become apparent since their first is that the formula was getting a bit tired. Suddenly, all their songs were sounding the same. I still rate the first album as one of my favourites, but the subsequent two I wouldn't even play now.

But it's not the material that made the concert disappointing, it was the attitude. I'm not sure if Carol Decker had let fame go to her head, but she had lost the warmth and friendliness of her earlier performance, replacing it with look at me I'm a rock star attitude. It just didn't work for me.

So not really the best concert I have ever seen.
