I thought the concert was technically brilliant, but I wasn't really feeling it. Benoit has a fine voice, but the emotion isn't there. The new material is very strong, and I couldn't fault how it was played, but it all felt a bit... clinical. I think it wasn't until they reached Wurm, and then the encore, that I felt like they were really the Yes that I remembered.
I enjoyed the concert, but not in the way that I should have enjoyed it.
Somebody was remarking the other day that Benoit is a better singer than Anderson is these days, and that's possibly (probably) true, technically. But even an old and tired Jon Anderson moves me more than... well, almost any other singer I can think of.
