The Slade Rooms, Wolverhampton
13 December 2018
There's a rumour going round the Slade Rooms that the support act (who I think was someone I was keen on hearing) had to pull out at the last minute, and the replacement is a "secret".
So the 30 or so people who got here early enough see Heather walk on stage at around 7.30 to explain the situation...
...pick up a guitar...
...and play Eyes of the Forest.
Apologising to us for not having time to prepare anything, and begging us not to film it in case it's bad, she plays a 30-minute set of whatever she can think of that isn't in the main set.
Such as How I Feel Today.
And a brand new Odin Dragonfly song.
I am now the first person in the world to hear a brand new Odin Dragonfly song.
It's like Christmas.
And finishing with a couple of covers: Grantchester Meadows (Pink Floyd) and Landslide (Fleetwood Mac).
It's all too perfect.
I'm seriously considering going home now, to preserve this as my lasting memory of the best concert I have ever seen.
